History
The Carolina Classic
Cruisers NC car club was born from the idea of five guys
and their wives in January of 2001. These guys would
hang around in each others shops in their own backyards
and sometimes work a little. They discussed starting a
car club that would be a little different. They wanted
to drive around together to show off their beautiful
cars (and wives). The club would be a way of making
great friendships and maybe help the community in some
way.
This club will belong to all members equally and also be
an asset to the community around them. After having an
informal meeting to elect a President, Vice President,
and Secretary/Treasurer, they planned how to spread the
word of the club and have the first meeting at Jimmy D’s
on February 13, 2001. At that meeting 21 families signed
up for membership and 5 more wanted to but could not
attend.
Today the club has a membership of 40 families on roll.
The main reasons of this club are to encourage the
members to acquire, preserve, restore, exhibit and make
use of all car and truck model years up to and
including 1986.
